Central BioHub GmbH (hereinafter referred to as “Central BioHub”) takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. The following Privacy Policy provides you with information about the collection, processing and use of personal data. We reserve the right to adapt the contents from time to time. 1 Subject matter of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all services which are offered under the domain http://www.centralbiohub.de. Unless stated otherwise, this Privacy Policy exclusively regulates how Central BioHub treats your personal data. We collect, process and use your personal data only with your consent or if a legal regulation allows us to do so. We will only collect, process and use the data necessary for the execution and use of our services, or which you have voluntarily made available to us.

Personal data means any information concerning the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable individual. This may include for example your name, your address, your email address, your phone number, and products that you have purchased.

Please note that in case you make use of services provided by third parties, the privacy policy conditions of these third parties apply exclusively. Central BioHub does not revise the privacy policy conditions of third parties.

3 Collection of data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To create a customer account (your name, your email address, your business address, your telephone number)
  • To process your biospecimens orders (your name, your email address, your telephone number, your business address, your delivery address, your billing address, your business tax details, your ordered products)
  • To answer your questions (your name, your email address, and if provided your telephone number, your country of residence)

In addition, specific parts of information, e.g. IP addresses, browser types and access times, are automatically transferred by your computer and saved on our server. The IP address is the worldwide valid, unique identification of your computer that consists of four number blocks separated by dots. Mostly, as a private user, you will not use a constant IP address because it is only temporarily assigned to you by your provider. Nonetheless, by static IP addresses a definite assignment of user data is principally possible. Except for the purpose of the prosecution of illegal access to our web services we generally do not use this personal data. Only on an anonymous and aggregated basis, we evaluate such information as which of our web sites are favoured, the number of daily visits etc. Like many other companies, we make use of so-called cookies in order to design our web presence as convenient as possible. Cookies are small text files which enable the recognition of the user so that you do not have to reregister each time you visit our pages. These cookies are normally automatically deleted from your hard drive after you end visiting our website. Other cookies remain on your computer so that we can recognise you during your next visit. Your data will not be sold to third parties. Central BioHub exclusively transmits your personal data to the following extent:

For processing your order, it is sometimes necessary to transfer your personal data to third parties (for example, suppliers or freight forwarders). The data passed on to third parties are used exclusively by them for the fulfilment of their obligations or tasks. Transfers to government agencies or authorities are only carried out under mandatory national legislation or administrative or court orders. We maintain the right to transmit your personal data to companies connected to Central BioHub which are controlled by Central BioHub GmbH. These companies are either subject to this privacy policy or ensure a privacy policy which is at least as effective. Additionally, it might occur that we assign to other companies or individual people the completion of particular tasks and services. For example, we assign the analysis and usage of our Internet services and the transaction of payments (credit card, direct debit and purchase on account) to service providers. In the case that Central BioHub, companies controlled by Central BioHub GmbH, particular affiliated companies or shares of the company are sold, your customer information will generally be passed on with the transmitted part of the company. In this case your data will remain subject to this privacy policy and the relevant data protection statutes, but the control over the company may change.

8 Facebook Pixel

The website uses the Facebook conversion tracking pixel of Facebook, Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, United States. If a user lives outside of the United States or Canada, the operating company is Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland. This tool allows us to follow the actions of users after they are redirected to a provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook advertisement.

This enables us to measure the effectiveness of Facebook advertisements for statistical and market research purposes. The data collected remain anonymous to Central BioHub, i.e. we do not see the personal data of individual users. However, the collected data is stored and processed by Facebook. Facebook is able to connect the data with your Facebook account and use it for their own advertising purposes, in accordance with Facebook’s Data Use Policy found under: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. Facebook Conversion Tracking also allows Facebook and its partners to show you advertisements on and outside Facebook. In addition, a cookie will be saved on your computer for these purposes.

The legal basis for the use of this service is Art. 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 letter f GDPR. Facebook is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and thus guarantees compliance with European data protection legislation.

9 Cookies used by LinkedIn

The website uses the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure LinkedIn ad campaigns. The LinkedIn Insight Tag enables the collection of metadata such as IP address information, timestamp, and events (e.g. page views). All data is encrypted. The LinkedIn browser cookie is stored in the user's browser until the user deletes the cookie or the cookie expires (there’s a rolling six-month expiration from the last time the user’s browser loaded the Insight Tag). Users have full control to block or delete cookies from their browser.

10 Retargeting

This website uses retargeting technology to generate a more compelling user experience. Once you have visited our website, the technology allows us to keep in touch with you by showing you ads on third party websites. We are convinced that personalized ads are more interesting to you than generic banner advertisement campaigns. The delivery of personalized ads on partner websites is accomplished by using cookies and analyzing user behaviour on our website. User behaviour information is collected pseudonymously. 12 Deletion of data

If your data is no longer necessary for the above-mentioned purposes including the settlement, it will be deleted. If the data is required for tax purposes or because of other legal obligations, it will be blocked instead. This data is no longer available for further usage.
